WHEEL OF THE YEAR JOURNEY: A Moment with the Season
Finding a sense of belonging in a turn around the wheel
A prologue, of sorts
One of the things I’ve grown to love about life is how often we’re wrong. I said I’d never turn on paid subscriptions here (oh the self-doubting stories I had about why!) and I just have because an idea landed in me last week, persisted in vying for my attention and I’ve since fallen completely in love with it.
First some background…
A lovely thing that didn’t totally work
Last year, gathering together my love of all things seasonal and my desire to help women and mothers carve out more nourishing moments for themselves, I held some workshops for the Wheel of the Year festivals. There was story and symbolism, journaling and self relflection, wrapped up in a soft space (on zoom) with a gorgeous circle-like feel. People came and loved them. I adored hosting them.
When I wasn’t hosting workshops for them, I wrote about the festivals. Drew together downloadable journals and made guided meditations inspired by them. It was kind of a love affair. Immersing myself in these moments of the season. Scooching them in a little closer to my main work. Making it all feel rich and fun. Inspiring me and the people who came.
But it wasn’t working. Promoting each one was taking up lots of time I couldn’t really give. I was sure there was another way but it wasn’t coming to me at the time.
And then last week it did.
A journey
Early Spring felt like pieces of inspiration floating around just above my head but not coming together in any decipherable way. So when they finally did, the clarity landed fully formed.
This exploration through the wheel of the year needed to be all joined up. A journey all the way around. A whole turn. A full cycle. Of course, it did!
I could’ve offered it as a group programme. I know it has enormous value, having taken myself on this journey for several years now. But sharing my own exploration of the seasons through the wheel was always intended to be as accessible as possible. To enrich and nourish those who are short of time and space for themselves. A permission-giving invitation (if we need such a thing) to take regular, beautiful moments for yourself and in doing so forge deeper self-connection.
So this heartfelt offering is going to have it’s home on Substack!
Let’s journey around the wheel together
A Moment with the Season is a journey around the wheel of the year, taking in the festivals - Beltane, Litha/Summer Solstice, Lammas, Mabon, Samhain, Yule/Winter Solstice, Imbolc & Ostara - which fall every 6 weeks or so, creating a beautiful moment of pause around each of them as we go.
I’ll walk you into each festival with spoken and written words on the stories and symbolism associated with them. I’ll share inspiration for ways you might like to mark or celebrate each one. I’ll craft seasonal journal prompts for self-reflection and to help you check-in with yourself. Sometimes there’ll be a short guided meditation aligned to the themes of the festival. And three times in the year - at the Summer Solstice, Mabon & Imbolc - you can join me for a live workshop (on zoom) so we can explore and celebrate the festival together.
I began marking the Wheel festivals when I had the least amount of time available to me in earlier motherhood (read more about that here) and they continue to be a helpful reminder to pause and meet myself.
More than that, they’ve become beautiful, seasonal mirrors to peek into - rich with themes that relate to the cycles of my own life - helping me check-in and be with what I need. They’re such a gorgeous way to slow down for a moment, root into the season and feel connected to the Earth’s cycles, as well as my own.

What you can expect from A Moment with the Season
Every 6 weeks or so we meet the next festival in the Wheel of the Year and a few days before each one I’ll walk you into that festival and the turn of the season with a mix of offerings which will include a voice-note-style podcast about the festival - it’s themes, symbolism, stories - and I’ll share some ways you might create your own nourishing moment, either with your children/people or by yourself
I’ll share gentle journal prompts for self-reflection, sometimes a short guided meditation & 3 times a year (at the Summer Solstice (Litha), Mabon & Imbolc) you’ll be invited to join me for a live (on zoom) circle-inspired workshop
As the number of people joining grows we’ll have a subscribers only chat thread where we’ll check in around each festival and share our plans for taking these nourishing wheel-inspired moments
